BSNL is ready to start MNP in India by the October 31st

State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced they are ready with the infrastructure to start Mobile Number Portability (MNP) by the October 31st. MNP will allow the users to retain their mobile numbers even if they switch their operator.
“We are ready with the infrastructure and will meet this October 31st deadline.”said Gopal Das (chairman and MD of BSNL). Importance to this, the government failed many times to establish MNP, its the fifth time for deadline. They have already been delayed four time before this.In the year 2009, the govt had announced the MNP would be put from January 1,2010 in the all metros and some major state of the country.
That deadline is not sufficient for them and another deadline set mar 31 ,2010 and then to june 30,2010.The june 30 deadline was again changed because some operators are not ready with their equipments to provide the service. October 31,2010 is the last deadline for all the operators, but this time another problem out there all telecom operators want some compensation from government if they suffer from financial loss after the implementing the MNP.

  1. Mobile subscribers can access to the MNP India service. After a long while and many postponement, the MNP is finally here for good. All Mobile service providers are already started advertising the MNP service.
